Smita Ramnarain is Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Rhode Island. Her research focuses on the political economy of development in South Asia, specifically the gender dimensions of post-conflict reconstruction, peacebuilding and development, feminization of poverty and female headship, microfinance, and environmental adaptation and resource conflicts.
